Strong visual storytelling relies on effective picture editing. To tell compelling stories, you need to understand the principles of photo composition, selection, sequencing and presentation. In this course, you’ll examine the process of editing and practice the techniques you need to develop compelling narratives.

Kenny Irby is visual journalism group leader and director of diversity at The Poynter Institute. He founded Poynter's photojournalism program in 1995, and he teaches and consults in areas of photojournalism, leadership, ethics and diversity.
