Ellyn Angelotti is the interactivity editor of Poynter Online (www.poynter.org) and faculty at The Poynter Institute. She writes about innovations in multimedia development for Poynter Online and teaches interactivity methods and multimedia.
Since joining the Poynter Institute in April 2007, she has taught and written about innovations in multimedia development, social networking and how news organizations connect with users through interactivity methods.
Prior to coming to Poynter, she guided the development of nontraditional multimedia sports content at the Naples (Fla.) Daily News as the new media sports editor. While attending the University of Kansas, she worked as a multimedia producer for World Online, the Web department for the Lawrence Journal-World. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Online-Broadcast Journalism and Spanish.
Angelotti has taught and/or consulted with the following organizations and newsrooms: Agricultural Media Summit, Associated Press Managing Editors-News Train, Carnegie-Knight Initiative for the Future of Journalism-News21, College Media Advisers, Chipps Quinn Scholars, Institute for the Advancement of Journalism (South Africa), Journalism that Matters, Kent State University, National Association of Black Journalists, National Association of Hispanic Journalists, National Public Radio, Online News Association, Pennsylvania Newspaper Association, Society of American Travel Writers and the University of Kansas.
