Sonja Matanovic is the communications coordinator/webmaster at the International Reporting Project.

Before joining IRP she was with Merrill Lynch Global Philanthropy, where she worked on international philanthropic initiatives including youth financial literacy, arts sponsorship, disaster relief and community development. She has additional communications and development experience she acquired working for Head Start in western Pennsylvania and the University of Chicago Medical Center. Matanovic also worked for several years in academic reference publishing, producing and writing for a variety of books on topics including international terrorism, U.S. women's history, and emerging media and computer science. Earlier she worked as a translator and research assistant at World Press Review magazine.
