Established in September 2006, Stony Brook University’s School of Journalism is the first and only undergraduate journalism school in New York State’s public university system.

Home to the nation’s first Center for News Literacy, Stony Brook also is dedicated to educating news consumers and offers the only university-wide course in news literacy in the country.
