Register now for NewsU to take advantage of NewsU’s free courses and you’ll be entered in a free quarterly drawing for a Flip Video Ultra 60-minute camcorder.

Eligibility

Only registered users of NewsU who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry are eligible to win a prize for a submission. Employees of News University (“NewsU”), The Poynter Institute for Media Studies, Inc., Internews Network, and their immediate family members are not eligible to win. “Immediate family members” means parents, siblings, spouses, children, grandparents and grandchildren, whether by current or past marriage, remarriage, adoption or cohabitation, and anyone living in the same household, whether related or not. The contest Sponsor’s determination as to eligibility is final and binding.

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

How to Enter

You must become a new registered user of NewsU. When you register, choose Internews as the answer to the question “How did you hear about us”? The contest entry period begins April 1, 2009, and ends at midnight, March 15, 2010. Four (4) drawings will be held during the duration of the contest: June 15, 2009, September 15, 2009; December 15, 2009, and March 15, 2010. Any person who completes a new registration at NewsU and chooses Internews as the answer to the question “How did you hear about us”? is eligible to win in any drawing conducted after registration has taken place. Individuals may only win once; the winner of a drawing will not be eligible to win in any subsequent drawing.

Neither Internews Network, NewsU nor any of their affiliates are responsible for any electronic malfunction or lost, late, misdirected, damaged or illegible electronic entry. Sponsor is not responsible for any other problems or errors in modes of transmission of entries. The deadline for receiving entries is midnight, March 15, 2010.

How to Win

The staff of NewsU will select the winning entries from all eligible entries received by the submission deadlines. Submission deadlines are rolling. Four grand prize award winners, one winner on each declared drawing date, will be selected at random from all submissions received by the date of each drawing.

Notification of Winners

Winners will be notified within five days of each drawing deadline, using the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. If there is no response to the notification within five (5) business days, or if the Winner does not meet all eligibility requirements including the signing of the Affidavit and Release referred to below, an alternate winner will be selected to receive the prize.

Affidavit and Release

All winners will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and General Release, which includes an affirmation of eligibility, a release and waiver of legal claims, and a consent to publicity. The failure of any contributor to a winning entry to complete and sign the Affidavit of Eligibility and General Release will result in forfeiture of the prize.
