About Conversations

Join us in our virtual studio as Poynter faculty and other veteran journalists discuss issues about the craft and values of the profession. This live videocast also gives you the opportunity to join the conversation, submitting your own questions and responding to poll questions posed by the host.

Join us to hear the replay of an archived conversation, held March 24, 2008, about what the judges for the 2008 National Press Photographers Association Best of Still Photography and Web Sites contest are seeing.

Conversations, held every day for a week, were archived so you can access the replays at your convenience to use as training sessions for yourself, for your staff and for your classroom.

Poynter's Kenny Irby will conduct interviews every day with judges from the NPPA Best of Photojournalism 2008 contest in Still Photography and Web Sites. He'll be joined in the studio by nationally known photojournalists and editors who are judging this year's contest.

What Will I Learn:
  • Trends from the 2008 contest entries
  • Ethical issues that arise in this year's entries
  • How multimedia storytelling is affecting photojournalism
Who Should Take this Course:

This is for everyone wondering what photography and Web site judges are looking for when they award for excellence.
