“Voice.” It’s a word we bat around in our newsrooms, but what does it really mean?

How is it developed, and why is it important to storytelling? What about use of the first person? It was once verboten; now it appears regularly in magazine and digital storytelling.

What does this mean for your writing? In this Webinar, we will talk about ways to find and use your storytelling "voice" effectively.

Jan Winburn is senior editor for enterprise reporting at CNN Digital, where she is bringing longform multimedia storytelling to a brand known for breaking news. Before joining CNN in 2009, she was an editor at newspapers for three decades. Among the awards her writers have won: The Pulitzer Prize for feature writing, a Dart Award, the Livingston Award for Young Journalists, a Batten Medal and a Peabody Award.
