You’ve played with your smartphone, pointing it at some subjects and rolling… well, pixels, not tape. How do you decide what to record, when to observe and when to interview? Telling a story with video is different from recording video and posting it online. It takes knowledge and skill, and you can do it in a short amount of time with some training and forethought.

This Webinar will walk you through the basic building blocks of videography with a journalistic approach to visual storytelling. No matter whether you are shooting video with your phone or a dedicated video camera, this Webinar will give you the tools to get started telling stories with video.

Mark E. Johnson

Mark E. Johnson is the Senior Lecturer of Photojournalism and Chief Technology Officer at the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication where he oversees the Visual Journalism program. An early digital disciple and technology geek, he believes that the story is always more important than the form it’s presented in.
