About the Program
NewsTrain is a workshop for mid-level news managers produced by APME and RTNDF, along with local co-sponsors. NewsTrain programs are taught by nationally-recognized trainers and take a practical approach, providing common sense advice that participants can use right away to improve their performance in the newsroom. The program receives substantial funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

Workshop Location: Liberty Memorial Museum
100 West 26th Street
Kansas City, MO 64108

Program Note: We divide the group into two teams: Broadcast and Print, to reduce class size and provide specialized training opportunities for print editors and broadcast managers.

Who should attend?
Anyone who wants to sharpen their leadership and management skills. The program is designed for mid-level news managers like frontline newspaper editors and broadcast assistant news directors, executive producers, managing editors, assignment managers and supervising producers. Senior editors and news directors are also welcome. University faculty also may attend.
