We know times are tight. So, thanks to grants from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, The Harnisch Foundation and others, we are able to offer journalists some financial assistance for our online group seminars and Webinars.
To apply for a Webinar scholarship, simply send an e-mail to scholarships@newsu.org by 5 p.m. Eastern time two business days before the Webinar. In your e-mail, answer these questions:
- For which Webinar are you requesting a scholarship?
- What is your NewsU username? (If you're not a registered user at NewsU, please create an account by clicking on the 'Create an Account' box on the top right of the page.)
- Why do you need scholarship help?
- How will this help you in your job?
- What can you or your organization contribute toward your tuition?
Because we will need to process the applications, you must submit your request by 5 p.m. Eastern time two business days before the Webinar. (If a Webinar is on Wednesday, we'll need your e-mail application by 5 p.m. on Monday.) Be sure to include your username and use an e-mail account you check regularly, so we can keep you posted on the status of your request. We will let you know by 5 p.m Eastern time the day before the Webinar about how much assistance we are able to provide.
To apply for an online group seminar scholarship, please answer the scholarship questions in the application for the online group seminar.
If you have other questions, you may reach us by e-mail at scholarships@newsu.org.
