Miranda Mulligan

Miranda Mulligan is a journalist, designer, strategist and an Internaut!, running on 90 percent caffeine and 10 percent water. Based in Chicago, she's now with Northwestern University Knight Lab, a joint initiative of Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science and the Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications. Also, as a side project, she recently joined Mule Design’s Evening-Edition as editor-in-chief.

Formerly the design director for digital at The Boston Globe, Miranda has focused most of her attention to the intersection of content and technology for the past couple years. In 2011, she led the responsive web design approach to The Boston Globe’s new site – BostonGlobe.com.

Miranda believes, passionately, that journalists should learn more about the Internet. Understanding our medium makes us better storytellers. There has never before been more urgency for our industry to gain enough digital literacy to achieve meaningful conversations with technologists.
